If you truly want to spend as little as possible I'd suggest a mid tone gray on the walls to balance the contrast between the red and cream in the room, a high pile rug to anchor the room and add texture and center your artwork behind your sofa. Also, move the starburst mirror near the windows to directly above the tv. Center it there and place it about 4" above the tv.
If you decide to change the drapes you will end up spending a little more on new art and pillows but the same principals as above would apply.

I think red, gray, and diff shades of tan is a good direction.
Unsure if you are a fan of plants. Real or Fake but they always add color that can go with almost anything.
Consider a mat under the table as well with some art hanging from the same wall as the tv

Thanks to all willing to spend more :) but have to keep my white leather sofa, glass coffee table and side table apart from that i am very keen to get rid if the red pinkish tones and try something more inviting and elegant might ask for a quote for a false ceiling border that way i can get rid of the awful looking wall lights i tried purchasing some of the prints natalie kindly suggested but due to the size cant find a supplier who ships internationally so might have to shop locally and see whats available as to the window treatment i agree need to tackle this asap but because my flat is overlooked need the privacy and also need something which is accessible to go in and out as i have a balcony which is constantly in use, my windows comes all the way up to the ceiling so need drapes that lie close to the ceiling

Hi as advices I have started to look around for a canvas print before deciding on wall colour and curtain, but due to the size of print I needed it was either to expensive or to big to ship internationally so i thought of having three individual prints placed on a frame. This is the print I am thinking of buying, can I have your thoughts, the dimensions of each print is 8.5 inches by 11 inches my sofa is 114 inches long, not really sure whether the dimensions of the three prints together with a frame would look ok and looking for some inspirations on colour scheme thank you

If your sofa is 114", you need art that is at least 76" long. That would be the minimum. Those 8.5 x 11 prints aren't going to cut it.

You might gesso over your current canvas and paint something yourself. Maybe just a splatter painting in whatever colors you choose.

Thanks Groveraxle don't think I'll be able to spatter something on a canvas that doesn't look like vomit lol I am not too artistic, good thing I have asked before buying I am normally an impulse buyer will continue to look

Mel, I love the art, too. Is it big enough? I think it will look great with a neutral, fairly monochromatic color scheme. And there's just enough color for accent.

Thanks guys its bigger than my current artwork think it came out to 70" so should be ok was thinking of smoky mist or brandy snap on the crown paints colour range though not too sure on colour of drapes and colour of accents especially cushions as to the window treatment thought i would go with the ceiling mounted tracks with ripplefold curtains for a clean contemporary look though worried the whole thing may feel cold advice appreciated

Hi guys gonna need your advice again please long story short the previous art work i wanted size was not right anyway new artwork got two testers for wall paint colours pavillion and cloud burst from the crown brand what r yr thoughts which one if any should i go for thanking you in advance first two are cloud burst last one is pavillion

Of the two paint samples, cloud burst is the more neutral. I'm afraid the whole room done in pavilion will look pink.

I am in a pickle at the moment with wall colours was going to get more paint samples but not sure which one to get it needs to be from the crown brand and i am looking for something neutral it needs to go well with the floor artwork and white doors and trim i would like the living room to have an light and airy feel (not cold) but i am also looking for elegance. Any advice on colours from the crown brand greatly appreciated

Of the swatches you posted, the most neutral look to be the first, and the fifth. BUT--big disclaimer here--viewing swatches on a monitor isn't adequate. The only real test is putting samples in the room.

Ok two more samples again the colour looks so different on the wall! I definitely like the second one better the first has a purplish tint in it the second is barren plain from bj hope the room doesnt look to dark is this considered a neutral colour?

Update so far, thanks to all of you it's all starting to take shape painted walls hang curtains although not sure what to put in the middle as I need privacy and easy access to balcony cushions are not doing it for me any ideas as to combinations think I need something to contrast advice appreciate

Been fabric shopping for the drapes but i have no idea which fabric to go that would look elegant and luxurious without looking dated been looking at tafetta silk, silk dupion and velvet plain fabrics also unsure whether to go for gold bronze or chocolate colour, dont really want to spend money on something that will not look right would appreciate any help i can get

Finally got an update hectic ordeal with my sheers still don't know what happened with my ordered purchased them but instead of the curtains a sample arrive anyway at least helps with the colour scheme here are the samples

The sheers are much more on the bronze side than I had imagine which colour curtains goes better I'm torn between four gold, old gold, antique or antique gold I have also included the wallpaper so you can get a better feel for the whole look thanks a million for your help

Or are they to similar to the sheers and I should go with the soft gold for a nice contrasts advice appreciated please thanks

I would go with changing the window curtains to a different color as well as changing the wall color to make an improvement to your living room.
