Can you please share what type of wood the tongue and groove is. And is it stained? I am considering pine or cedar for my covered porch.

The tongue and groove was a 1x6 "V" groove pine, and the beams were wrapped in cedar. Yes, it was stained - but I don't remember the color. If you don't plan on staining or sealing, leaving the natural wood exposed, cedar would be a better choice because of it's durability. If you will be staining the ceiling, I would use the pine. It looks like cedar and is typically more affordable.
