What kind of grass is planted on the wall, I love the pink seed heads.

    It looks like purple muhly grass, a lovely native, hardy to about zone 5.

    According to the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center, it is native to a large portion of the eastern US. I am growing it in SE Michigan, and it survived the winter of 2014 just fine. The latin name is Muhlenbergia capillaris.

    Ah, I see I live in Oregon. I haven't really seen it around here. I bet it would still be ok though, we are in zone 8.
