That would be a very unusual light plan, very likely to produce hot spots on your upper cabinets. If you had no uppers, it would be correct. Search Houzz for kitchen photos and notice how most can lighting runs center of walkway between base cabinets and island. If no island is used, the can lights will often center at 40 inches off the cabinet wall (not face of cabinet) The under cab lighting illuminates the counter top.

Actually where you placed them is fine for putting lighting onto the countertop without creating shadows on your work area. You do not want the lights out behind your head as you will always cast a shadow on the countertop even if you have under cabinet task lighting in addition to recessed. We generally place the center around 22" - 23" from the wall.
