No way would I accept this. You paid a lot of $ for this granite and have to see it every day....trust me, you'll hate it.

Unacceptable. Have them replace it even if they have to purchase the new slab!

Wow!! That's horrible. I have a seam in my granite countertop and I can't even see it. Terrible job.

The third photos shows that there is another joint only a few feet away from this one, another flaw in the layout for this job. You should not have that many seams in this counter. Poor template, poor install. Do not accept this. Do not pay for it. I would get another supplier and installer to do this job.

The owner of the company returned this morning and basically told my husband that our granite was an exotic with a lot of variation. He said there would have been no other way to cut it. My husband said that was unacceptable and he told my husband that he didn't know what granite was supposed to look like. I do not believe this is even the original granite that we chose. I chose Typhoon Bordeaux and this doesn't look like any typhoon Bordeaux I've seen on the Internet.

The edge looks like it was done by two different factories, please have your salesperson take a look at these photos and be you advocate to get this fixed correctly.

You should of been made aware that there would be seams. Anytime you have an L shape that's larger than the original slab then there will need to be seams.

In the close-up of the edges the granite doesn't even look like the same thickness???

It's really hard to say from a computer screen but have them point out the exact areas that you can see in the photo. Where are the swirls and identifing marks on your counters vs the picture. It could be a different slab, I agree.

You should have signed off on the back of the slab with a red magic marker.

Our general contractor and the subcontractor are going to meet us at the granite warehouse. They said they had one slab of that run of granite left over from another job, but I have now way of knowing for sure that it is going to actually match.

The slabs were obviously not calibrated or are the edges just poorly laminated. What was the origin of the slabs? there has been a big influx of slabs from China, most of them poorly calibrated.

Are the slabs on your counter in even 8 foot long sections? If so they are probably prefab slabs and as such often will be mismatched and poorly calibrated.
