twp is a great stain or super deck for the railings if you don't do a semi Trans on them do a solid stain

Does the stain come in a solid white? That is the problem I'm having. I can't find a solid white (paint look) for pergola and rails. Any suggestions?

What type of material?

If you want white railings, consider a synthetic material. No maintenance. For the deck, a semi-trans stain.

Solid stain is tinted like paint, and while I have never used or seen a white solid stain, I bet they exist.

Sherwin Williams Deckscapes is the product you want. It comes in both opaque and semitransparent and can be mixed in just about any color you want. Opaque will give you the most sun protection. You really need a durable product designed for decks- paints are too thick and tend to chip. Best Wishes, Caryl H.
