it would be ok to user shorter handles on the ones that are really short. just make sure they are matching and don't get more that 2 different sizes.

Why don't you mix handlers? Try to mix two or three styles. You just have to use a bit of imagination to mix them (and search for the right ones for your kitchen). It is a bit bold but everybody loves it!

It's much more interesting and makes your kitchen more unique. It's lovely by the way.

Personally, I think handles on shaker drawers should be in the middle of the panel. It adds unnecessary bulk when placed on the top of the drawer. Use knobs or handles on the cabinets, just make sure they are comfortable to use and that there's enough clearance between your hand and the cabinet. If using all handles, vary the size depending on the cabinet/drawer, but don't use more that 2-3 sizes. Always think proportion.

What a nice kitchen (yours) and I love the example of the mixed handles and knobs. Interesting choice of putting the handle on the middle of the panel or on the upper edge. Another decision to make!
BTW, what are the "cup hooks" you mentioned?

Just installed these Belwith handles.

I like using handles pulls for everywhere and adjusting the size and making the doors go in a vertical direction and the drawers in the horizontal direction.

I used a combination of knobs and pulls in the kitchen and then same-sized handles for the master bath.
