Need suggestions

How can I improve the exterior of the house we just bought. Interior is mostly all renovated so I would like to focus outside. Needs to be budget friendly. Eventually would like to build out the entrance way so there is more room for coats and it will add to the exterior I think

You hardley notice the shutters (wider ones would be nicer as well) and the front door is drab, so first thing I would do is paint - maybe a grey. The foundation blocks and the staircase are stark. Wondering if you painted them the same color as the brick so they blened in a bit more. Then to the right of the steps add two or three large planters with tall grass to soften that area. You could also add a new mailbox and coach light, paint the railing black. Landscaping on left and a more appealing driveway would change things as well. Also go around the neighbourhood to get ideas. Enjoy your new home, it's really cute.

I would take the shutters off the big window and if possible, put larger shutters on the other two windows. Each shutter on a window should cover 1/2 of the window sizse if it could be used to cover the window. Paint the shutters a different shade of your brick color. At the moment they blend in with the brick.

Remove the evergreen on the right, it is blocking your door from view.
Paint front door a very deep grey, almost black looking.

Nice house! It could use a little zip though.

It looks like the shutters are narrow because of the location of the mailbox and house numbers. If you moved those two things to the other side of the door, you could install wider shutters on all of the windows. These small things can use a bigger wall.

A complimentary color to your house and roof would be in the aqua family. Something soft and grayed down to an old aqua - not bright.

The step area needs attention and since the walkway goes right up to the foundation, you might think about placing at least 3 big matching pots along that line. Plant them up with something tall and whispy and add a colorful lower plant, like coleus. It comes In different colors so plant the same kind in each pot for continuity. These would have to be shimmed up on one side to allow for the angled walkway.

Choose a dark leafed plant for the tall ones. It will stand out nicely against the light color of the house.

You could paint the foundation to match the house or add a veneer that would match what was used for the front of the steps.

A pergola over the door and triple window would do wonders.

Steps straight out from the door. Plantings to the right. Would be nice in a built in planter. No shutters.

Congrats on the new house! If you are happy with the color of the brick chose a complimentary color for the front door. Otherwise paint the brick, that would look lovely and update the look. As mentioned above, A new front porch and or railing would add some pizazz. Is the blacktop we see in the picture the driveway? As long as it is there and you are not planning on taking it out, use more black on the house as accents, pots and fresh landscaping to include flowers/blooming trees/bushes will help as well. Not sure adding on to the front of the house will not result in extra value to the property.

What colour would you suggest for the brick painting?

Tread cautiously on painting the brick. It requires more maintenance than unpainted brick. Colors that coordinate with that brick are burnt umber, spice, yellow ocher, charcoal, browns.
