Something with very little pattern so maybe even a man made product but something in the gray family, not sure about your kitchen so just guessing I would go quite a dark gray to really contrast the calcutta.

We recommend Cambrian Black Granite with an Antiqued finish. It is very dense, strong and resilient - perfect for hardworking areas. It does not show fingerprints or stain, and it has a very neutral black / grey tonality - not too dark or harsh. The slightly textured finish lends a subtle effect that isn't too glaring either. Even though it has some pattern I have seen soapstone combined nicely with a calacatta island . Otherwise I agree with a solid black,

I would apply the same calcutta gold marble.
