Need help picking color diningroom table

Our trim is natural knotty alder as well as our cabinets and doors. We put in a darker looking dull laminate flooring. I love the flooring but the contrast between the baseboards and floor are greater then I imagined. I need a new dining room table but I am at a loss as to which color I need to go toward when picking one out. Please help!

I think I have the same floor! our baseboards, trims and doors are all a shade of white, which I am guessing is not an option for you. what colour are your walls? Blue? I am wondering if painting the walls a more neutral colour may tone down the contrast a bit. For the dining table we have a natural reclaimed wood trestle which is gorgeous, but also have a rug to separate the floor from the table. I am not a designer, but those are my thoughts.

The whole house was/is painted a tan color...I think my picture is just poor. thanks for the advice.
