You can definitely make brick, faux or no, look modern, depending on the overall design of the room.

One thing to remember, if you do use it, consider treating it like tile, not brick - use regular thinset and grout, not brick mortar and/or pointing, which are a lot harder to work with in that tile-like situation.

Oh wait, I see you're planning on using a panel.... not sure how those are supposed to be mounted. Oops, sorry if this comment is useless!

Are you talking about putting up a large sheet of faux brick? If so, it should look fine. I was going to do that in my bedroom years ago but never got around to it for some reason. I even had the faux brick paneling.......

Since you'll just be nailing it up, if you don't like it, all you'll have to do is spackle the nail holes, touch them up with paint and your room will be back to where it was.

Yes thinking of putting premade inexpensive sheet of faux brick...ok so it shouldnot be hard to take it off if i don't like it.Thanks

The sheets don't look as nice as the individual brick slices that you can purchase (usually in boxes of 5-7 square feet per box). These bricks are real clay brick that have been sliced with a saw so that they're thin and can be applied like tile to your wall surface. They add warmth and texture and look wonderful! The sheets tend to show the seams where you're joining the panels together thus offering a fake look.
