If you aren't ready to hire a kitchen designer, but are renovating a current kitchen, use Excel and make it into graph paper by making the width of the columns the same as the height. I did this when figuring out things with our kitchen renovation. It's not perfect, but it didn't cost me a dime either. You can use the border feature to draw a variety of lines.

I designed a hutch for my sister and brother of law. I didn't use graph paper...I did it the old fashion way...i drafted it out. I love drafting. But it is TRUE, if you can design in such a way that you "see" what you get before "getting" it...then that's the way to go

Can you upload some pics ? There are people on this site who may (if they see your post) who may use their expensive software to help you. I know at least one such houzzer who not only helps but is in great demand...ahem....GroverAxle...

Autodesk Homestyler, but be careful because it's very addicting. I used it for my current home just to get an idea of space planning for knocking out a living room wall and putting in a master bath & closet. It's free.
