Need help with non-standard kitchen sink replacement on granite

I am looking to replace my eight year old kitchen sink and have a granite countertop. The current sink is stainless and undermount, but a hard to find odd size.

The sink opening is cut 15" x 29 1/8" wide. Home Depot and Lowe's don't carry anything that would fit the opening. I'd like to find a black composite drop-in sink that would fit the opening, but I'd settle for anything at this point. The current basins are 14" wide x 15" deep with a 1" divider and 8" deep.

I've been told by granite companies, that to enlarge the hole, would be a huge expense because they would have to tear out the countertop, take it in, recut, and re-install.

Do I have hope of finding a new sink anywhere? Thank you in advance for your input and suggestions.

Thank you both. I'll call another granite company and I think the mobile home kitchen element idea is great, I'll try that too. Why the builder put such a small sink in this huge house, I'll never know. haha, I'm sure it was a cost savings. Thank you both!

Call another granite company that can make a new opening on site without removing the countertop. Mind you this is a huge mess but you don't risk the countertop being transported that way.

There is always hope! Have you tried some specialty places that carry more sizes or styles...maybe even a place that would specialize in mobile home kitchen elements. Otherwise, cutting the hole in the granite will become a very involved job...and I am not so sure any granite fabricator can actually remove the granite, cut it and reinstall it without breaking it...So that would be the last thing I would do...and if you are forced to do this...have a "B" plan that you can afford...like taking into consideration the possibility of replacing the granite! I wish I could give you better news!

My goodness, my home was just built ( finished 3 months ago) and I have that same sink, faucet and identical granite! Mine was built by Mercedes Premier Homes.

Btw, I don't like my sink either. It's small but deep and hard for me to get used to.
My builder's construction manager was building his home about the same time as mine and he put in a black granite sink (I think...could have been composite but I'm pretty sure he said granite). Beautiful! Wish I'd have known...

curious if you ever got this resolved, I am in the same boat. My sink is 30 X 16 and I am told the granite cannot be cut to fit a more standard size sink .. the granite and sink were in the home when we purchased it.. the granite was new but as best as I can tell the sink is the original one or at least a good 20-+ years old.

The Lexicon LP-1000

will work for the OP without changing the cutout, however, there will be a 1/2" or so negative reveal and of course the corners will be off. With a dark sink, that isn't that noticeable.

Half a day job, plumbing included.
