This entire structure has been designed and made for outdoor use. It was built by Atkinson Pontifex, and designed by Cycas Landscapes in Melbourne. The steps and floor is all bluestone. The roof structure is a flat metal roof on top, with a plaster lined ceiling under( painted white). The circular patterned material is lazer cut core ten steel. It is designed to filter light and provide a organic medium, and naturally allows wind and rain through. I hope this helps and answers your question.
