We Need Help!! - Master Bedroom

We are a Military Family and moving On Post into a 3 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath, Two Floor Home. Though what we can do to renovate or "spruce up" an On Post Home is limited, we still want to make this House our Home for as long as we are in it.
Suggestions are welcome for every room and space. Our goal is to give this older house a Modern Home feel, but still with a huge feel of comfort (think being able to just lay down on your favorite comfortable, over-sized couch on Sunday morning to watch the Game, but still aesthetically pleasing to the eye with that Modern twist).
Please remember that we are a Military Family so what we have to do MUST be done on a Budget, but please...suggest away
