Great eye!
Yes, all the counter tops in the residence are Vermont Soap Stone. Great material! However, slabs are generally small and require a bit of maintenance. The counters were oiled the evening before this photo was taken. The finish usually has much less of a sheen. The sheen dissipates in about a week after being oiled.

Thanks for your response. The house is absolutely beautiful- interior and exterior. Love the wood detailing that you carried throughout. I've been looking for extra long soapstone counters 14'-15' but can't find it. Longest is 10' so far and trying to avoid a seam. How often do you think that you really have to oil the counter?

You're Welcome. The counters have been installed for about 4 years and are currently being oiled once a year. The first year they were oiled once evey 4 weeks. It really depends on how dry / matt of a finish you want.
Good luck on your hunt for a 14' slab. FYI, the island top has a seam.

Hardware is by Rocky Mountain and the finish is medium bronze
