It hides everything well. And we have an IR repeater that allows us to control the TV w/o opening the doors. All that is cool. It's on a very tall wall. In a small condo. So it does help in not taking up too much space. The issue is the space underneath becomes tough to work with. It's a tough one.

I do not like the wires showing down on each side from the lamps. I find it defeats the purpose of hiding the TV wires. Too many doo dads on the shelves.

Thanks and your right, we can hide that behind the tv( there's an outlet there) or in the cabinet by drilling ( oh boy) a hole what's your opinion of the lamps overall?

I like the industrial vibe with the lights. The photo frames not so much.

I think you should consider painting it black and then get a low similar width black shelving or cabinet to put underneath.

I really like the lamps, but can`t help but wonder if they might do more justice somewhere else in your home. With them being the same height as the television it tends to detract from making a statement. If you want lighting may I suggest trying just 1 lamp that is higher than the tv and place it off to the side. Then you can always place something else that you treasure on the other side. Rule of thumb when decorating is that objects placed in odd numbers together tend to make a better statement...such as 1-3-5 etc...and sometimes less IS more when decorating. A floating console is a great idea, my friend bought a cabinet from Ikea, discarded the legs & floated the cabinet on the wall it looks great. My suggestion would be to remove all the extra stuff, keep it clean perhaps beef up the existing cabinet & drop it down so there is decent gap between the top of the cabinet & the bottom of the TV. Sorry I'm unable to offer a photo but check out Houzz for ideas on displaying the TV on a wall. Good luck.

You could maybe put one of those electric fireplaces underneath it to fill in the space.
Might add to the focal point, then paint the floating shelf black ? to go with fireplace.
I agree - remove the lamps. I'll try and find a picture.

Floating wall units can be awesome and vey unique! But this one doesn't seem to cut it...It also seems to be too high on the wall...there should not be enough room for a table to fit underneath it...the lights are not very good either...We could design one for you...call us 714-970-8000

Paint it black. It's ok. Wouldn't be my choice.
