it says the base is chrome but the picture shows more of a metal?? what is the thickness of the glass? Is it beveled?

    The thickness is 3/8 of an inch with an Ogee edge. I can't find any description about the finish of the base. I would rely more on the picture than the name of the finish. This doesn't look like Chrome to me.
