So special! Given that you have the historical photo, my inclination would be to re-point, re-paint as it was, and grow that vine right back up it! This from someone who just painted her chimney white last summer, as my home has references to yours, in colors, curves, and surfacing. Sorry if that seems boring, but I'd have fun with color in the garden and on the front door. And have that early photo framed somewhere. It's a beautiful and timeless home.

I like dark, could even be a bit toward bright red for the color of the door I think white is going to be your best choice for the chimney as it's so large and right up front. Other colors will make the siding and roof look different

I would suggest the white of the stucco so you don't lose the scatter brick detail. A beautiful metal or sculture would accent your home and provide a signature of art as you approach the home. Your home is so beautiful. Good Luck. Please post your before and after.
