We are doing a complete kitchen renovation of our 100-year-old craftsman. We recently ordered maple cabinets in praline finish (example of style and finish attached).

Much of our current white molding will be torn out except where the rear entrance is. There, we will have a sliding glass door, a new closet with folding doors to the left before reaching the slider, and an existing half bath to the right. The half bath currently has a white pocket door and trim. There is also an existing white door and trim immediately in that vicinity (before the closet) that leads to the basement.

We are trying to decide if we should keep the white trim and doors in that area, paint them and the slider a different color (and if so, what) or leave the existing doors and trim white but stain the slider and closet doors/molding to match the new cabinets.
I haven't yet settled on a backsplash yet - thinking white subway tiles in an attempt to tie in the white trim if needed. Floor will be a darker slate-porcelain.

My concern is whether that corner of the kitchen will look weird being all white next to the kitchen which will be almost all wood-stained.

Any ideas are appreciated.
