what is the difference between honed and leathered granite?

Leathered has more of a "texture" to it. It's not completely flat. More of a "dimpled" surface, but still with a honed finish.

I thought I wanted polished antique brown until I brought a small sample piece into my kitchen. It's a small kitchen and the way the light enters the room, when I held the granite where the counters world be, it was exactly like a mirror - I couldn't even see the granite at all just what was out the window. I had a piece that wasn't polished and it was immediately clear that was the only way to go.

Maybe if you bring home a sample of each and look at it in your space, the decision will be self evident. My local granite yard has big scraps in the dumpster and will give you a bigger sample if they have what you want on hand.
