I have a similar setup with a brick and stucco fireplace. My question is the up lights are low voltage and look great but when there is no fire and no lanterns, at night the fireplace looks like a black hole! The fireplace is a focus point centered directly out of our family room. We have an LED strip light under the mantel but it has to be turned on and even then it is to bright. What would you suggest to help light up the fireplace?
