My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

    Our preference has typically been to locate microwaves either in an enlarged pantry or in a kitchen cubbie that is oversized for the unit. We tend to avoid "built-in" units, so that when needed the microwave can be easily replaced with an updated version in the future. In comparison to other kitchen appliances, microwave sizes vary widely. The photo attached below, shows a microwave installed in a kitchen cubbie.

      Thank you for your question. The pantry closet is 4'-8" deep x 5'-4" wide.

      I'm remodeling my kitchen and would prefer to keep a large microwave in the pantry (I have a very large pantry and it would not be hard to reach, similar to this). Do you think that's ok? Contractor insists I do a built in, but there's really no good spot for it. It's a large kitchen so I can see his point that people would expect it in the kitchen.
