Our recently purchased home has satillo tile throughout, which we'd like to preserve. But, the staircase has this nasty carpet along the edges. We know we want to remove the carpet but any suggestions on what to replace it with? Most likely would have to remove the railing to do the job but open to ANY suggestions

Prevailing thought is replace with wood trim. Thanks!
