Kitchen hardware and faucet...HELP!

Just rounding third base on my kitchen reno and it's time to dress her up! I really wanted a copper farmhouse sink and I love it but now I'm having trouble deciding on the finishes for the faucet and hardware. I'm a huge fan of mixing metals but can't seem to decide on which way to approach it. I am also not the biggest fan of dark hardware on white cabinets but if my options are limited Im willing to rethink it. My counters are marble and there will be three pendant lights over the island that are glass with a rustic iron finish on the rods and bases. The window trim still has to be painted. What should I do? Would pewter on the white cabinets and ORB on the island work? But then what color should my faucet be? The sink is throwing me for a loop! Any help is appreciated...thanks!

I believe that if you choose too many finishes you will find it can become very hit and miss...and especially in a kitchen this size. As far as the copper sink...I would be careful with this as you already have stainless steel and the refrigerator is a pretty large focal point already. So, I like for your kitchen a brushed nickel and if you want to bring in a few touches with some crystal knobs then choose the areas where it will make the most impact...perhaps by the cooktop and brick work area and only on a couple as this then becomes a lovely accent and will not get overlooked.

You can definitely mix styles and finishes in the kitchen cabinet door hardware. In this scenario it's especially appropriate because the island and perimeter cabinets are different colors. Not everything has to be matchy - matchy!

I know I can mix but don't know how to do it lol! Can I do ORB hardware on the island and pewter or brushed nickel on the perimeter with a polished nickel faucet? or should the faucet be ORB to tie the copper sink in? :/

I would do the faucet the same as the perimeter cabinets.

I like ORB too but maybe not necessarily for the white cabinets. I don't think I want there to be such a stark contrast. My decision would have been made already on the finish of the faucet and hardware if I knew how to tie in the copper sink. But I don't! Argh! Am I complicating things too much? Maybe I don't have to think about the huge copper sink? Lol
I think I'll just buy a bunch of samples and try them out although I won't be able to do that with the faucet:/

You might also inquire as to what the sink will look like after a few months of use. Even with sealing its appearance will change.

I would suggest an ORB faucet or black with your amazing sink! Depends on the feel of the space you're after, you could do coordinating handles on the island ( sink) and handles that disappear, no handles or crystal knobs on the white cabinets..

I would do ORB on the faucet and then take the stainless or nickel handles (1/3 ratio) throughout to tie in all finishes and give a modern touch.

Since you have black in your lighting I would either do your faucet or some of the hardware black/orb. If you don't like it on the white then the island. I think a black or brushed nickel faucet would work with the sink and any of the cabinets (my first choice would be dark on white and nickel on wood but if you don't like that the other way around is fine). Don't worry about the copper sink - think of it more like a splash of color than a metal. Then tie it in with a copper bowl or pot to display on the counter. I love the look of a bunch of metals you just want to repeat them so it looks intentional.

Mixed metals can look interesting. One warning about a copper sink. I have an apron front copper sink and it loses its patina whenever anything acidic hits it. Lemon juice, etc. It comes back but it takes quite a while and that might bother some people. Stainless is much easier to deal with.

Black knobs would not be overpowering and would look great with your brick.

I would do ORB for the faucet, pewter, stainless or satin nickel for the white cabinets and black hardware on the island to match your iron light fixtures. Really pretty kitchen!

Thank you all! So I think I will be doing the ORB on the island and some sort of nickel on the white cabinets. I had my heart set on a polished nickel faucet but I guess an ORB would be more pulled together. Now on my quest for the right color ORB:/ There seems to be so many different variations based on the maker!

side comment that my relative painted her dark cabinets white which was good... but her dark handles did what you mentioned: stuck out / every handle etc...
I also thought of another material altogether for one portion of cabinets....

But more often than not, I'm seeing orb or a copper faucet with this kind of sink.

Have you considered copper cabinet hardware, which is not as dark as orb:

Not all ORB is created equal. Some is really fake looking with fake "rubbed" marks. This sort of painted on finish can look very cheap. There are real ORB fixtures with a nice solid finish just pay attention.

So far I have looked at these faucets...which color would work best? (Please say polished nickel, please say polished nickel)

Polished nickel is another whole can of worms. It often tarnishes or films up. Read the warranty.

I really think the faucet color is important with a copper sink and ORB is going to be the way to go. I'd do black or ORB for all your cabinet hardware too and think it will look great on your white cabinets. I have delta and moen ORB faucets in my home and either one would look great with a copper sink. I really think black is really your only other faucet option with a copper sink. You want the copper sink to look beautiful, not weird.

I would go with oil rubbed bronze on the faucet and cabinet hardware.

I have a white kitchen with orb handles and faucet... I looked at many orb finishes and the important thing is to get one that will patinate over time.... The fine detail rubs to copper colour pretty quickly... My personal choices were a hansgrohe faucet and restoration hardware handles...

I would steer clear of the nickel hardware - it's just getting so tired ...
ORB would be a great transitional colour to go with - for the faucet especially, but the hardware could be done to match if that's important to you.
I would go Matte Black with everything - then you're not trying to be too matchy-matchy with the sink, and it looks amazing on all cabinetry colours.
One thing to consider - if you go with a pull-down faucet - make sure it has a magnetic dock (like Delta's "MagnaTite") - if not, your faucet will eventually not go up and stay up!

i always take a look on appliances's metal and try to match. Or choose absolutely diffrent material as wood or plastic

I would suggest ORB for the faucet, air gap, etc. at the sink,and then either ORB or the mix you like for the cab hardware. I applaud your color courage and mixed materials! Kitchen will be beautiful!

Having completed a kitchen renovation recently, I understand the angst over choosing the final details. Hardware can completely change the mood of your space. I prefer porcelain kitchen sinks and regret choosing brushed stainless, which is difficult to keep clean. If you are committed to a copper sink ( high maintenance?) i would choose ORB at sink which will blend against brick backsplash, and on all cabinetry for some consistency since you are already mixing metal finishes. If you can switch sink, go with pewter hardware, it is classic and looks great with grey toned marble.
