If you can do a "distressed" treatment on the chandelier it would look wonderful.

In the same manner, bring in a lighter color in your floor. Even using the Porcelain tile that looks like wood. I have just the right one in mind. The one below brings in different colors and yet is neutral and not too dark. Therefore, your darker wood pieces will stand out.

The color you've got looks about right. Anything darker and the room will be too dark, and all the dirt will show.

I take it you did it yourself. Good job! We're going to be putting hardwood in our living room this spring, and my husband will do it.
