drapes in an open floor plan

I have a cape cod house, Living room and dinning room are just separated by an arch. I have painted the dining room a willow white which is a beautiful light gray/green. Do I have to do the same window treatments in both rooms. My kitchen is off of the dining room in which I have white batten burg lace curtains. So do I need to stick with white? You can see all three rooms from my main hallway when you come in.

I usually like the window treatments in rooms that are visible at one time to have some connection so in your case I guess the lace should be in the other 2 spaces also so maybe some very simple drapes with just a lace topper or the lace on the bottom and I would do the LR and DR the same treatment. The drapes in those rooms could be another colour with just the white lace so the same sort of look as in this picture

I have the same fabric with the same pattern in two different colors - cream for kitchen / dining and red / brown for living room. Works for us.
