this room, although may be, well put together, looks stiff and uninviting.
It needs to loosen up a bit.
In stead of the red vases have a pair of unmatched table lamps.

A couple of pillows on the sofa

Change the yellow in the pic to red to go with your vases.

I also agree with previous comments. I don't see any art on walls, that adds personality to a space. I suggest a red throw and some patterned pillows that tie in all the colours. Definitely something organic is needed like a plant.

HI -- I think the drapes are fine . I don't care for the colors on the ceiling or the style of the ceiling . It would look better to have it all one color . If you painted the walls the color of the drapes that would be the best look. Then the drapes will work for the room. Then paint the ceiling the strip color from the drapes . Then have an accent color like the vases for lamps or cushions and so on.

The drapes look great- just not sure if it's the lighting but you have way too many competing Colours in the room; the curtain and rug grey is cool, the yellow is warm, the colour on the ceiling looks more bluish than grey. Paint is the cheapest fix, and get some pillows for your sofa, it looks uncomfortable!

Agree, drapes are fine. Some art on the walls (not too high!) would add warmth and interest.
