Tile Window Trim

I'm in the middle a home renovation including my guest bathroom. All windows in the home were replaced and wood trim was installed. My contractor surprised me with this tile trim and stated he couldn't install a wood trim. I really dislike the look and question why wood was not option. Does it really look as bad as I think? Your opinions are much appreciated.

I don't care for it either. What reason was given for not being able to install a wood trim? If you didn't ask for that, I'd have him remove it.

I don't know. I think. Well. I love tile I confess. And I'd work with it if it happened to me. But. And. I like white. But I don't claim to be an expert or have superior style. But. I do like it.

Is this next to a shower or bath? Perhaps it is a moisture issue??
