The counter is made of a stone called Basaltina. It is a charcoal grey color.

What's your experience with the care and maintenance of Basaltina? Once it's sealed, give its porosity, does it stain easily? How often does it need to be re-sealed and how does it age??

I have been really pleased with durability. If oil is spilled on it...it may ghost for a bit, but will come out. I would use something like windex as a poultice and it would take away the mark. I can't answer the question about sealing with any expertise...but I can tell you my clients have 3 boys and have not resealed since installation 2 yrs ago.
