Need help in mixing old cabinets with new.

Can you give me some ideas about how to incorporate the natural maple cabinets I have (see photo) as far as adding upper cabinets and a sink base(which I ordered unfinished in maple by craft made) . I can have the upper cabinets custom built. I can paint the older wood-mode cabinets if necessary , but the have a pretty good clear coat on then. The walls are cornbread yellow. Floors are hardwood a country grade hickory with lots of black. I added photo of style I like.
This is a 15.4 x 11.4 on the right wall. The door is the style of the sink base which will come unfinished maple. The cabinets in photo are by wood-mode with inset doors in natural maple. Walls are a paler yellow than in photo. Please all suggestion will be appreciated.

First, I think you should eliminate the wall color from the design equation. You can always paint the wall a color that will complement your choices (paint is usually selected last). If you're having custom cabinets, I'd ask the cabinet maker to match the bottom cabinets then pro paint both the same color. Or, paint the new uppers a complementary color (or do white uppers with your cream lowers sort of like your inspiration photo). Or, a cost effective solution is do open shelves on the top (depending on your style).

I agree with Darzy--worry about the wall color last. Lots of kitchens have upper and lower cabinets in different colors--darker wood or a shade of green would be pretty. Coordinate your hardware to unify the cabinets.

Which color for upper cabs ? One to right of sink will have glass door. The left of vent will be open shelves. To the l of window will be a small shelve. The left wall will be solid cab. Doors and also over ice box.
