Maybe leave the blinds as is and add some patterned pillows.

I love all these ideas. What if I used a floral and blues in the accessory pillows and these (see photo ) for the windows. I am worried about putting floor length drapes on the outside of window frame because we have floor vents located there. I also am more about purchasing more neutral large prices items and change out the smaller accent items when I get bored with them. Putting up those white shades where only suppose to be temporary when our construction was complete. I was having a hard time committing to something back then.

Bamboo shades or the weave you are showing would add so much because they are open and you can see through them, the texture alone will add so much. I hate feeling closed in unless you need complete privacy. I'd use a Sunbrella fabric so it won't fade for your seat and cushions, there are so many great choices. A large tray could hold some books and accessories too.

Thanks Craig I agree I got this sample from shade shutters and blinds. I have bought from them before and when they have a sale the price is right. I haven't been disappointed yet. They do offer lining.

Like you, I also like neutral fixtures and add color and pattern through accessories. If you don't go with a woven shade like bamboo, I think linen roman shades are a great option. You can find local vendors who make them cheaper than the big companies. Also etsy.
