Look at plans on the Internet....I chose a beaver home and I took out the parts of the plan I didn't like...the architect at my building supply modified my plan using his computer. You can choose a plan and any builder can help you modify it to your liking.

A budget is always a good start. Also know what your needs and wants.

You can create idea books on houzz with different looks you like. Once you find your professional, you can show them the idea books so they have a better idea as to your style.
