Happy wife, happy life :) Marble is beautiful and lasts and lasts. Don't let some naysayers influence your decision. There are just as many - who are thrilled with their marble counters and floors.

I wouldn't do it unless you're comfortable with stains and etching (some feel that adds character). If you aren't OK with that, I'd look at natural quartzite or quartz.

We usually recommend that our customers do not use Marble in the kitchen due to the possibility of stain, as you mentioned. The color of the marble is also a factor...stains obviously show up on something more white. We have done Marble in kitchens on occasion, but they are usually a kitchen where not much cooking and preparation are done. It really comes down to personal preference.

Granite and Quartz are our preferred stones for kitchens. With Granite you get the classic look with some maintenance, but overall they are much more durable.


Quartz has a bit of a different look, but requires almost no maintenance.



If you do decide to go with Marble, I would get Dupont Oil stain remover if there are any stains, and also make sure to seal it at least twice per year.

There are many stones on Market. That look like Carrera marble . Without the worry. Ck them out at your tile store.
