Small purple leaves

We also have those small purple plants. But we didn't plant them. They just showed up last summer. We were wondering what they are called. We live in zone 6a so they gone now. Thx

    They look like Coleus, of which there are many variations.

    The ones in the very front are indeed coleus. The ones behind the coleus is coral bells.

    Coral Bells being a perennial will come back every year, where as the Coleus are annuals. So, I can't see the coleus coming up spontaneously without having spread some seed as I have never had them go to seed in my garden, they may flower, but never get pollinated.
