Red accent wall

I bought a new condo with a dining living room. It is 15x20. I plan to have dining set on one end. Chair are gold and red. The other end is living space with beige couch, I plan to use pale gold for walls, but would like a red accent wall. Should I paint red on living room 15" wall or end wall with dining set with red. Or should I paint the 20' wall opposite the patio doors or the patio door wall. I am looking at Vaspar Posh Red and Eddie Bauer Slice. I have attached floor plan.

I'd put the red on the long solid wall in the foyer, then both sides of the little piece of wall in the hall that you see as you enter from the foyer, wrapping red around to the 15' wall in the dining end. This leaves the 20' wall to provide some relief from the intensity of the red. Be sure to get sample pots of your colors and some white poster board to test the colors. Paint a 12-15" square in the center of the board and hang them in the space for 24 hours to see how the light changes them. Be sure to have the chairs with them when you test them.

I think the 15" wall would be just enough of a pop of color but not too overbearing!

Which wall behind the dining table or on the opposite end behind the living area. The dining table will be nearest foyer. Thanks.

I didnt understand this.....I thought the living area would be nearest foyer and then it would add a nice color to beige couch and not be too much!

then, I think you should go with the living wall whichever one it is!

That's what I was thinking also, paint accent wall red behind the sofa in living area. Thanks.

deco, I was concerned that with the dining table against that wall it might be too much red., I also have a chandelier with red mini shades (they match the sitting side of the chairs), Will I lose them against that wall? I like the idea of painting the foyer wall red, so I would need to carry the color into the dining area.

Is the dining table red too? I don't understand how it could be too much red, but paint must perfectly match the chair red and the red in the chandy's damask shades. In fact, the dining table should break up the red wall some. If in doubt, paint an entire piece or two of poster board and set the chandy in front of it, backing away and squinting your eyes to see. If the the rest of the chandy is metal, or white or bronze, I think it will be stunning. If you can get some of the chair fabric, you might add some pillows in it to your sofa. Don't forget that when not in use, you may be able to pull a couple of the dining chairs to the living side to use as occasional chairs. You could add lumbar pillows in the striped fabric to all of the dining chairs for a little extra comfort and a great look.

I have painted poster board the red matches almost perfectly to the chairs.. The dining table is glass round top with wood base. The ceiling are cathedral so it is a very high wall. I think if I found a print to hang behind the dining table it would break up the red wall.... I'm liking it.

In case you're worried about the height of the wall or trying to decorate it remember, you and your stuff live below the door and window frames so decorate there. Be sure to get lengthy chain for the chandy so it can hang 36" or less above the table.
