It is model 108331324. And since writing this yesterday, I have also read reports about these lights buzzing. Any info on their aesthetics and reported buzzing would be appreciated.

That model number does not seem to exist. You will need to give me a link for this fixture and the buzzing reports.

Those are not recessed lights, they are just made to look similar to recessed lights. They are called "down lights", as are recessed lights. They have some advantages over recessed in some situations. Is the ceiling you are using them on fire rated, vaulted, insulated, etc?

It sounds like you would want the SLD4......JB style.

The buzzing is usually due to a dimmer that is less compatible with the LED. It happens to all LEDs to some extent, just like a bad ballast in a fluorescent light. Other reasons for buzzing are too many lights on one dimmer, and the dimmer low limits not adjusted properly. They normally make more noise the more they are dimmed.

one more question: will it work in a wet location?

Do you recommend a particular dimmer switch? Each dimmer switch would be for 4 lights.

What has you drawn to the HALO LED down light? What look are you going for in your master bedroom?

I don't know the price difference between those and the first ones I posted, but it probably isn't significant. I think a traditional recess would still look better in the bedroom, as they don't stick down at all. However, the regular junction box used for the SLD displaces less insulation. The closet needs to meet other special codes, depending on where in the closet you put the light AND where the fixture is listed by UL to be permitted.

(C) Location. The minimum clearance between luminaires installed in clothes closets and the nearest point of a storage space shall be as follows:
(1) 300 mm (12 in.) for surface-mounted incandescent or LED luminaires with a completely enclosed light source installed on the wall above the door or on the ceiling
(2) 150 mm (6 in.) for surface-mounted fluorescent luminaires installed on the wall above the door or on the ceiling
(3) 150 mm (6 in.) for recessed incandescent or LED luminaires with a completely enclosed light source installed in the wall or the ceiling
(4) 150 mm (6 in.) for recessed fluorescent luminaires installed in the wall or the ceiling
(5) Surface-mounted fluorescent or LED luminaires shall be permitted to be installed within the storage space where identified for this use.

There are some suggested dimmers on page 12. Other dimmers may also work as good or even better, but it is usually a bit of trial and error.

The more adjustable the "limits" are on a dimmer, the less it will matter how many recessed, but check the specs on the dimmers. Yes, you can use the SLD in a shower.

Thank you. Here are the specifics: need 4 lights in 180 sq ft bedroom (prefer warm, better than ambience lighting, but not overwhelmingly bright); 3 lights in 70 sq ft bathroom (prefer warm and adequately light a bathroom); and 2 lights in 56 sq foot closet (need good light to see well).

The SLD has a 625 lumen output. A standard 60 watt lightbulb is 850 lumens. A small bedroom usually needs around 1700 lumens @ not too bright with a standard surface mounted center fixture, and a larger bedroom 2500 lumens. "Down lights" will stifle the brightness a bit.
For comparison purposes, a kitchen needs about 300 lumens per linear foot of countertop frontage placed directly over the outside edge of the countertop. For the closet, you may want 3 down lights, or closer to 1900 total lumens.

I hope you intend to also have something other than down lights at the bathroom mirror?
