This is a big project and you need a architect. It looks like there's enough space to create a beautiful, separate bathroom and expand the closet. I'd give up bedroom space to fix this layout. Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback. You're right, the bathroom and bedroom are huge. I'd love a walk in closet. I'm just not sure how expensive it will be.

Weird....1 thing for sure - no carpet in the bathroom! I also concur that you will need an architect/contractor to help you through this.

First remove the carpet, then the mirrors from the closet doors. If you can't remove the mirrors right away, buy some frosted film to adhere to them. Do you have a water closet for the toilet? If you do not need the make-up station, that will give you much more room for storage to work with. Try to measure things out on graph paper. It seems like you will be able to use a lot of the room currently being used for the tub for your new shower. Maybe you can do cantilevered vanity so you are able to enlarge the size of the closet more into the floor space which is now open. Work with the graph paper & draw several configurations as you would prefer it to be. You will probably want to extend the wall to the ceiling and include doors to close off the bath from the bedroom. You may want to have the entrance to your closet from the bedroom instead of the bath, making the door 36" wide. No doubt the closet will be taking up much of your now open space so you will have a walk-in closet. Try to draw out your wants & desires on paper prior to going to an architect. Try to keep the drains & water in the same locations if possible. It will save you much money. Rotate the closet room to into the space within the open space you now have placing the door to open from the bedroom instead of the bathroom. Decide on what materials you would like to be using on the floor, shower & tub. Maybe you will want a free standing claw foot tub so it won't take up such a large amount of room. The tub could even be placed within the shower area so you have one wet area. Many things are possible. But write out all of your wants & desires & possible tile choices & fixture choices prior to going to an architect. What you will want to do is make it timeless, not trendy, so when or if you sell your house the new buyers won't be saddled with an archaic design.

I agree that the carpet is a bad idea. However, I believe you could simplify the change by removing the tub and leaving the white tile. Perhaps you can salvage the tile from the end of the tub area for re-use. I suggest you install the toilet in the former tub area and have a half-wall enclosure with a saloon-type door built around it for privacy. On the part of the wall nearer the sinks you could install the towel bars. You also could have two walls built to make the bathroom a total enclosure. If you have the entry door straight across from the half-moon window, you can have a straight path into the bathroom.
