Are you using this as a living room, family room? Where is the front door in relation to this room?

Is this a basement? Do you want to keep the carpet? Do you have a preferred style? Will it be for TV and/or family activities? And.....and.

The front door is behind the camera. This is the fist thing you see when you walk inside my new house. I hate the carpet! Thinking of wood tile. The room way in the back behind the stairs is where we watch tv and stuff. I'm 31 two kids married. This house is in Miami, Florida. We would love to entertain. I don't know what else to say

It is a nice open floor plan. I would go with hardwood or laminate. Perhaps shades that you can open up to get light in. Don't cover the windows up much because light is what you do need in that room.

A nice arrangement of furniture and art work will make it beautiful. Some pictures. . .

Wood looking tile might be a better choice than hardwood (and they look great). You must have lots of humidity in Miami and it might be too much for hardwood. Check that with your flooring experts.

Since this is the main entry area of the home if you have no use for the area then consider making it a toy area for the little one or den/office. You can create a good sized entry and wall off a quadrant for that use accessible through french doors.
