I am starting a small condo kitchen remodel in 2015 and the existing ceiling has a recessed fluorescent light box. A few years back I installed standard recessed lights and removed the fluorescents. Since the rest of the ceiling just over 7 feet high, would it make sense to flatten the whole ceiling to one height, or keep the recessed box area for a bit of visual style.
