Is there not a railing up there for safety? Surely there's state/provincial building code that this couldn't possibly pass. Although it looks like a fun spot, I hope it's only decorative and the ladder is well hidden if children of any age visit.

Thanks for your "like" and question. The top of this loft is at 5ft and the child it was designed for is 12 years old. She gets in and out easily.

dont be so cautios if you dont like it dont get it there is nothing to say ive fallen from 10 ft+ and i have never gotten anything besides a scrape or a bruise from it

oriole, she wasn't asking if it was alright for you, she was asking if it violated the common Building Code which all residential and commercial homes must abide by and this is definitely a code violation. Code states that if this loft is 30" higher than the floor, then a guardrail is needed. The gaurdrail can be no lower than 34" in height.

Sorry, gaurdrails have to be 36" high.
