Need help with master bedroom

I'm finally decorating our master bedroom and need ideas! I want to paint a greyish/green, and put a (new) king bed under the window which starts at 51". Having trouble finding a bed and not sure if I should do upholstered or wood. Want something modern/transitional and not too low to the ground. With 3 kids under 6, I need to be somewhat practical.
