Great house! Please clarify- is this a Passive House, or is it a passive solar house? If it is a Certified Passive House, please provide more details!

No it is not passive house certified. To make this house passive house certified on this particular lot we would of had to build 2 story. We had height restrictions and wanted single level accessible for when we get older. Our intent was always passive design. Although it meets the passive house requirements it would not pass on the details. Eg door to slab U values are to high to pass. With all these requirements to meet with passive house we felt it was better for ourselves to have a home we were comfortable in and was to our liking. Basically we traded our defaults with P.V Solar Panels.
We could of brought a lot down the street for an extra $100,000 but it was cheaper to buy solar panels and work with what we had.
After living in the house there are definitely things I would change to make the next home perform better. Although I think everyone finds defaults in there homes that they would change next time. The one think I have been noticing lately is how fresh the house it compared to other homes that do not have an HRV.

I would insulate more. And try and buy a property that had 90-98% sun exposure.
