WHAT TO DO W? 1950s tile??

We have a bathroom that has old 2" square pink and white floor tile that always looks dirty due to wear and tear and can't be gotten clean. We want to put in floor heating and new tile, but don't want to rip up the existing tile as it is in about 6" of concrete. Any suggestions on what we should do?

Are you certain that it isn't just tile and grout on a concrete slab?

Tile goes ON not IN. You are likely to have a concrete slab toped with a bed of mortar, then the tile.

I'd do some demo to see what is there.

Are you planning electric heat?
