I like more vintage/ mid century but I am open to any style. However I do have furniture for the living room, that economically speaking I was thinking about using.

What colors speak to you?

I think a round dining table with similar lines to one of these would be great in that space, but I'd swap out the lighting fixture for something a little cleaner, and white, like this. Add in a nice, colorful rug with some geometric designs and sofa with long, clean lines. Bring in some texture/pattern with pillows, throws, and accent chairs.

I'm also in love with this color! Green/Blue/Orange is a pretty palette!

any ideas on how to decorate my girls room ( ages 3 & 7)? The lighting in the picture is wrong in Pic #2. the color of the walls is more like pic #1. Economically speaking it's a new condo and I can't repaint the walls :/ Hence why the walls are all the same color.

Why not paint their twin beds then? Here are some whole house color ideas to go with the pale yellow walls - like having sunshine in your house!

Look for quilt sets in fun tones of periwinkle and lavender and then put them folded at the bottom of the bed over chambray blue duvet covers - paint their beds a sweet mid tone lavender - great with soft yellow and blue. You can buy duplicate plain duvets but look for slightly different patterned quilts. Younger daughter, more lavender, older, more yellow and blue . . most quilts come with a pillow sham now - the sham and folded quilt at the bottom of the bed give that layered softness - add a gingham skirt. The soft yellow is great with blue and white - I see the white kitchen and I would use navy upholstery/ slipcovers in the front room. Navy with white cording is classic and instantly crisp. I like the lines of the furniture you have - especially if you take the hardware off and silver it up then replace it - paint the end table but keep the gorgeous wood grain of the tall storage piece. You can use rub n buff to echo the funky silver ring pulls from the 60's, and here's a wild idea.

To break up the "matchy", be brave and paint the end table with a glossy red-orange so it is your fun punctuation mark in the living room (like sw chinese red - just the oranger side of red so it works with the yellow walls and blue and white as an accent piece under a big lamp). Add white frames (again, buy spray paint and paint old frames you pick up at yard sales. Keep the yellow blue and white thing going through the apartment but in different shades .. . your room might be gray and white (silvery blue gray), the most elegant approach. the kitchen can have yellow and white linens .. . paint craigslist wooden chairs in a denim tone - great with a round wood table.

The trick to colors you can't change is to work with them, but add more colors to things you will take with . . . good luck!
