"Professional air duct cleaning for a new custom home"

I would like to know if a new custom home should have its air ducts professionally cleaned or is it acceptable for the builder to use 4ft shop vac hoses, etc. This new home has 4 furnaces and quite a bit of duct work. Do custom home builder typically use a professional service provider for air duct cleaning?

Ask to have it done, and see what the contractor's response is. You could hire it done yourself too.

My husband and I have cleaned our own ducts for a few years. However, it isn't as easy as it sounds. There's a reason that professional duct cleaning services exist. They not only take care of a pretty meticulous job, but they always do better job than what any homeowner would do. We've decided to start hiring a professional to clean our air ducts.
