I have one that smells like citronella. I've never kept one alive over winter before, but it's still alive. Hopefully it can take light frosts like I've read. Every time I try bringing it inside, I knock it over. Ever have one of those plants?

Ha! I do have one of those. It's an AV and I can't stop dumping the pot. To make things worse, it's a pot where I am actually trying to root and make babies, so I keep jarring the new roots. I finally taped the make-shift baggie greenhouse to the window and that has helped. That doesn't work for larger things though.

I'm thinking to order from colonial creek. I see they sell on ebay and their price on a single plant is actually cheaper than on their catalog because of a tad lower shipping. it may be a good bet.

I messaged Colonial Creek and they replied with this list of scented geraniums they thought would do well in part shade:

Attar of Rose
Peppermint and Chocolate Mint
Orange or Prince of Orange
Strawberry
Fingerbowl Lemon

Those sound like fun! And speaking of part shade, when I first got this plant it was not doing well and it was suggested to me that in the heat of summer, full sun can overwhelm some of the more delicate Pelargoniums this far south, unlike the ubiquitous red-flowered ones people put in pots everywhere. When I moved it so it was getting a LOT less light, it perked up and started to grow a lot faster, not losing leaves as quickly either. So that bears well for your situation!

Hopefully the ones you get will be as pungent as this citronella one. It's not even necessary to ruffle the foliage to smell it, just to be nearby or a little downwind.

Yes! i am hoping to use it as an edging to a pot grouping so it will be as close to the table as possible. The table top itself is reserved for my fully double nasturtium and the high, unrealistic hopes I have for it surviving lol.
