Need Help getting started

I want to start me a bonsai. I have no idea what is the best and most hardy tree to start with. where is the best place to purchase seeds or trees? I would like to keep it in my classroom. I have a wall that is all windows and I am able to grow anything there. Please help. Any advice would be great!

Ficus ratusa. Not the easiest to find but almost bullet proof. Very easy to grow and will tolerate indoor comditions. Take it home on the week end and give it some outdoor life.

Find a bonsai club in your area for sources.
