I found them at Harris Seeds- you're right; a few more than I need (250 for $12.25), but lawn is totally over-rated! Shipping is a little high at 5.95 for the two packs that I have in my cart, though.

I didn't have very good luck with the profusions from seed, nor was the display very exciting, but maybe the Zahara's will change my mind.

Zaharas are also members of the new zinnia species, Z. marylandica, which means that you can save seeds from them with the expectancy of them coming relatively true from seed. That also means that, if you are inclined to do a little experimentation, you could cross them with Profusions to produce the first F1 hybrids in this class of zinnias.

The Profusions are now available in double flowers forms, Profusion Double Cherry, Profusion Double Fire, Profusion Double Golden, and Profusion Double White.

What's more, Profusions are now available in a strain with taller plants, called the "Knee Highs", such as Profusion Knee High Red.

It looks like the zinnias in this new class, including the Pinwheels, Profusions, and Zaharas, are becoming commercially very successful.

Zenman, or anyone else who would know, do you know if the White Wedding zinnias that Burpee sells would come true to their seed, too?!

I am thinking about buying these from Burpees but the shipping cost is so much...then again, if I could save seed and have them come true next year, it would be worth it!!!

I have never seen Burpee's White Wedding zinnias referred to as F1 hybrids, so I would expect them to come true from seed. Just be aware that zinnias are insect pollinated, and you may get some random cross pollination by bees with other zinnias in your area.

Zenman, some of the Zinnia you mentioned are singles and recommended for Butterflies over doubles or "puffier" ones. I'm still planting Benary's for a large color swath and will hope Butterflies like them. They stopped at doubles last year so who knows...read BBG article that listed different varieties have varying attraction in different parts of the country.

I have to admit I'd love to try some of the pretty new color combination varieties, though. Zinnia 'Candy Mix" is calling my name just for the beauty of them.

I ordered several packets of Candy Mix from Parks, along with a couple of packets of Uproar. Parks shipped the Uproar seeds promptly, but listed the Candy Mix as back ordered. That worried me. Then, a couple of days ago, I got an email from Parks saying they had shipped my Candy Mix order. I will be crossing them with several other kinds of zinnias, like Burpee's Burpeeana Giants, Whirligigs, Zig Zags, and such. Breeding zinnias is a hobby of mine, and the Candy Mix will be a welcome addition to my zinnia patch. I have gotten interesting results crossing the scabiosa flowered type of zinnias with other zinnias.

it`s a long shot, but I thought I ask anyway.
Did you try those Zahara zinnias and how did you like them? I ask because I am looking for" work horse" annuals for my window box. They should be pale/ pastel yellow. What kind of yellow did the yellow Zahara have (and yellow Profusion, if you grew them?).

I am not vicky, but I have grown the yellow Zaharas (then, sold as Zinnia Hilite). They were gorgeous the entire season here. I would call them a cool yellow (green undertones), which looks fabulous with pinks, blues, or pastel anything, as well as hot colors too. They never quit blooming from spring till frost (November here), and I don't believe I have ever had an annual look better longer. They'd be perfect for windowboxes.
I ordered a package of 250 this year, and my friends are clamoring for the extras.
