Question About Rescued Gerbera Daisy

I have a potted gerbera daisy that didn't die back in the fall, so I brought it indoors and have had it hanging on for dear life next to a bright basement window. The basement hovers in the 50-60 degree range. The leaves are still green, but is it even worth it to keep this plant alive since it's an annual? Any chance of it re-blooming, or will I just have to plant the seeds I collected from it in the spring?

Gerberas are perrenial here in z9. I covered my 2 with towels when we had some cold temps. before Xmas that blackened hibiscus and other semi-tropicals. They look great. Of course they won't bloom again until it warms up.

Just make sure they don't get overwatered. Gerberas must have excellent drainage and not have their crown covered by soil.

the collected seeds.. may or may not be the fancy flower you took them from ...

and some fancy flowers are actually sterile ...

so good luck with your seed... it should be exciting to find out what you end up with ...

you made it this far thru winter.. i dont know why you would give up on the plant now... just make sure to harden it off to sunlight.. once you take it out of its cave .. lol
